Houston Mayor Sylvester Turner has named RPS Klotz Associates President D. Wayne Klotz, PE, D.WRE, as chair of the Transition Committee for the Department of Public Works and Engineering.
Along with Co-Chair Tony Council, Mr. Klotz will assist the Mayor in developing policy related to the city’s streets and drainage, production and distribution of water, collection and treatment of wastewater, and permitting and regulation of public and private construction.
“Public works encompasses many of the most basic services that affect all Houstonians on a daily basis,” Mr. Klotz said. “It’s an honor to work alongside the Mayor and some of Houston’s finest leaders to make such an impact in our city.”
Mr. Klotz has more than 40 years’ experience in civil engineering, with a focus on public works and water resources. He has an extensive history of service within the industry and the community, and has been recognized with numerous awards and honors over the course of his engineering career. He holds a bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and a master’s degree from the University of Houston, and is a licensed engineer in the states of Texas and Louisiana.
