RPS Klotz Associates provided preliminary engineering, final design and construction-phase services for a new wastewater lift station to replace the existing WCID #51 lift station in southwest Houston. The proposed lift station had a 42-foot diameter and 54-foot deep sunken caisson for the wet well lined with T-Lok liner, a 12-foot diameter connecting manhole and a 72-inch fiberglass sewer line bored from the well to the connecting manhole. In addition, a new precast control building and a new odor control system were constructed adjacent to the well along with paving and site restoration. Once the new lift station was in service, the old lift station was demolished. The total construction cost for the project was $6 million.
