For this project Klotz Associates strengthened the taxiway parallel to the primary north-south runway, which needed improvements to the GA apron areas. Also, the taxiways to the T-hangars were in need of replacement. The firm completed an investigation of the 40-to-50-year-old pavement on the taxiway and executed design for its total rehabilitation. Klotz Associates also developed construction plans, which included overlay and slurry seal of all GA pavement areas. VASI on Runway 17 was replaced with PAPI-4. Work on the project also included various signage improvements and development of a detailed construction phasing plan that would not shut down FBO (fixed-base operation) or GA operations. Klotz Associates also prepared the scope of work for surveying and for geotechnical services and secured fee proposals for it. The firm also prepared a fee proposal for all services and submitted it for review.
