The Heights area is one of the oldest neighborhoods in Houston, and as such, represented many design challenges. These included congested urban rights of way (ROW), numerous trees along the alignment, and residential and commercial development along the ROW. Design phase of this project included Phase I and Phase II environmental assessments (EAs) of the proposed water main alignment. Klotz Associates provided final plans, specifications, and estimates (PS&E) for replacement of more than 70,000 linear feet (lf) of deteriorated water mains ranging in size from 8 to 16 inches. The firm also assisted with utility relocations and provided construction-phase services. |
